The Cinage Project is a European project using cinema and filmmaking to encourage active ageing in over 55 year olds. The project was funded by the European Commission with four partner countries taking part, the UK, Italy, Slovenia and Portugal. CINAGE engaged older volunteers in each country on a pilot course which included reflection on their experience of ageing, critical analysis of the way European cinema depicts ageing, and ultimately workshops in writing, directing and producing short films that enabled the participants to make films that told their own stories. Now the 12 short films made by the volunteers in all four countries are being screened at the Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre on Thursday 17th December at 7:30pm. Come and see the films and attend a Q & A with Jennifer Granville, leader of the UK project.
